From the Principal
It seems hard to believe that we are through the middle of the term and moving towards holidays and Easter. It has been a busy time and I am aware that I have contributed to that busyness due to the announcement made last week regarding my departure at the end of the year.
I am most humbled and grateful for the good wishes that Jacquie and I have received. This decision has been a difficult one for my family and I understand that there will always be mixed emotions when change occurs; however, Cathedral will continue to flourish well into the future, in large part due to the wonderfully kind-hearted community that makes up this school. We are very proud of Cathedral’s continued successes in so many areas and once gone (in very many months!) will always take particular interest in its future endeavours, knowing that at its core it is a collection of people committed to providing the best education possible to families in our region. I am thankful for the extraordinary education it has offered our children, the warmth of its broad community and the trust it has placed in me during my time at the school. It is a special place and we will be sad to leave when the time comes.
I am very much looking forward to a full year’s work amongst the school in 2019. In the background the School Council and ASC are planning for a comprehensive search for the next Principal and more details will come out about that in due course.
Although I have been in Perth this week for the ASC Principals and Chairs conference, I know that there have been many wonderful things that have been happening around the school, not least the first of our Leadership Days of which you will read about below.
