From the Principal
Congratulations to the class of 2018! This fine group of young people can be proud of their individual and collective achievements. It has been most fulfilling to see so many of them achieve their goals with ATARs they were striving for.
Particular congratulations go to Alex Race-Stelling, our Dux, whose 96.9 was a worthy reward for the hard work that he put in throughout his time at the school. Alex is an impressive young man whose talents extend to athletics. He has dominated track events in local and regional competitions in recent years, particularly in long distance events. He was also a fine School Captain in 2018 and a wonderful role-model for our student body.
ATAR results are an important outcome of a full, well-rounded education and whilst Cathedral College Wangaratta has seen some outstanding VCE results in 2018, we particularly hope to have fostered in our students a sense of curiosity, critical thinking, self-efficacy and a passion for life-long learning.
We believe in equipping our young people with the independence and transferrable skills that are necessary to thrive in the modern, global environment. We celebrate the success of our students, not just through an ATAR score, but in the way they act with each other, the way they show kindness and humanity, and the way they strive to do good in the world.
We are proud of each and every student at Cathedral and congratulate our VCE Leavers. 2018 has seen our top 10% rank in the top 10% of the State. I thank the exceptional teaching and support staff who have supported and encouraged our students so ably over the years.
Mr Adrian Farrer
